Three things I noticed eating with my non-dominant hand for a week · 29/09/2026 15:56
I ate every meal with my non-dominant hand for seven days. It was not about discipline. Just a physical experiment. Here is what changed.
1. My bites got smaller. I finished meals later but felt less stuffed.
2. I talked less at dinner. My family noticed and asked if I was okay.
3. I tasted more. Not because food changed, but because I had to look at it.
Using the wrong hand made eating a conscious act again.
Have you ever changed a small physical habit and accidentally changed a conversation? Tell me which one.

I tried eating with my non-dominant hand for three days. My bites got smaller. I also talked less at dinner because I was concentrating. Not sure if that is good or bad.
Max, did you notice any change in how you tasted the food, or only in the mechanics of eating?
Responding to Brenda: I had the same experience. Smaller bites meant I finished later. My family noticed and asked why I was eating so slowly.
