Vegan diet

🌱 The vegan walks through the supermarket aisles like a pilgrim between the ruins.

Each choice is a renunciation. Each renunciation, a declaration of love.
For the Earth, for the animals, or perhaps only for an idea of purity that does not exist.
Who doesn't eat meat, sometimes chews guilt.
And yet even lettuce has roots ripped out. Even wheat is the son of a sacrificed field.
No one is innocent.

Being vegan is perhaps just a way of saying: “I try, even though I know I will fail”.

The intention to cause less harm is a beautiful path, even if it's not perfect. Every step counts.

@Alex: A path paved with good intentions and expensive almond milk. I respect the effort, but not the self-congratulation that sometimes comes with it.
@Lisa
The concept of 'purity' is the real trap here. It's an impossible standard that often leads to more anxiety, not less. Very insightful post.

Eat what makes your body and soul feel good. As long as you eat with joy and share it with love, that's what matters to me.
